Using Heroku

Heroku is a commercial platform that enables running your own software products. It handles deployment, monitoring and scaling of applications. At the time of its release in 2007, it was an early example of a managed container platform.

At present time (July 2020) there are other services that offer similar and partially overlapping functionality: Amazon EKS, Google GKE, Azure AKS…

This lecture covers a version of Heroku as it was in 2013, and gives an overview of the features of the platform, a demonstration of its usage, and a Q&A session.
